Frequently Asked Questions

  • If something is affecting your quality of life — your mood, your relationships, your ability to function or enjoy things — therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Many people come to therapy simply because they want to understand themselves better, work through a difficult period, or build healthier habits of mind. If you're on the fence, our free 15-minute consultation is a no-pressure way to ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit.

  • The free consultation is a 15-minute call with your potential therapist. It's a chance for you to share a little about what's bringing you to therapy, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for whether the fit is right. There's no obligation to book, and no pressure. We want you to feel confident before committing.

  • The most important factor in therapy outcomes is the relationship between you and your therapist — more than any specific method or approach. We encourage you to trust your gut during the consultation. Does this person make you feel heard? Safe? Understood? If the fit doesn't feel right after a few sessions, it's completely okay to say so. We'd rather help you find the right match than have you stay in a relationship that isn't working.

  • Individual therapy sessions are $150 for 50 minutes. Couples therapy sessions are $180 for 60 minutes.

  • Most private and employer benefits plans in Ontario do cover sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) — which is what our therapists are. Before your first session, check with your insurer that your plan includes "psychotherapy" as a covered service. We issue receipts after every session that you can submit directly to your provider

  • Most clients start with weekly sessions, which allows momentum to build and gives you enough time between sessions to reflect and practice. As you progress, some people shift to bi-weekly or monthly sessions. Your therapist will work with you to find a rhythm that fits your needs and schedule.

  • Yes — research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Many clients actually find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own space. It also removes barriers like commute time, parking, and scheduling constraints.

  • All you need is a device with a camera and microphone (a phone, tablet, or laptop works perfectly), a stable internet connection, and a private space where you feel comfortable talking. We use a secure, encrypted video platform that requires no downloads or accounts.
